INC backs Gomezes, LP slate

ORMOC CITY, Philippines– The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), known for delivering votes to candidates they endorsed to their members, is backing the candidacies of Richard and Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez, both running under the Liberal Party (LP).

Last Friday, the INC endorsed LP candidates in the fourth district of Leyte including four incumbent mayors.

Among the new candidates were Lucy’s younger brother Matthew, who is running for mayor of Kananga town.

Felipe Jayme, INC minister for the western part of Leyte, announced the endorsement at their church in Sitio Kalipay.

Lucy thanked the INC for the endorsement.

The INC has around 8,000 voters in Ormoc City and 10,000 more in the six towns of the district.
