2 Samar bets purged from voters’ list

CALBAYOG CITY, Philippines  â€“ Two members of the Tan clan in Samar are facing disqualification after the regional trial court here delisted them from the list of registered voters for failing the residency requirement.

Acting on separate petitions, RTC Branch 32 Judge Feliciano Aguilar delisted Angelie Tan and her uncle, Arnold Vasquez Tan, brother-in-law of Rep. Mila Tan. Niece and uncle are running for Calbayog mayor and first district congressman, respectively.

Lawyer Fidel Amacna, acting city election supervisor, said Tans’ removal from the voters’ list is immediately executory based on Section 143 (g) of the Omnibus Election Code.
