New building of Leyte town’s hospital opens

Lalaine Jimenea - The Philippine Star

ISABEL, Leyte, Philippines  â€“ The newly finished building of what would become this town’s 30-bed emergency hospital was inaugurated yesterday by Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez, Mayor Saturnino Medina Jr. and Appellate Justice Vicente Veloso.

Medina said the hospital building was built with a P7.7-million budget from the Department of Health that the town availed itself of through the congresswoman’s effort. When fully operational, the hospital would have 30 beds.

“This project has been promised many times before,” Medina told residents in the vernacular. “But until the congresswoman came along, I was not sure if this would have been realized.”
