Bomb joke lands seaman in Zamboanga City jail

Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A seaman on board a commercial plane landed in jail after he was heard saying that he had a bomb in his bag, forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing at the airport here Tuesday night, police said.

PO1 Herminio Rabor, investigator of the case, said Kim Castillo, 45, who hails from Roseller T. Lim town in Zamboanga Sibugay, was drunk as he had a drinking spree with friends before he boarded the Manila-bound flight.

Minutes after the Airphil plane took off, a flight steward heard Castillo telling his wife “Akong bag naay bomb (My bag has a bomb),” Rabor said.
