COTABATO CITY, Philippines - - A Moro barangay chairman was killed while his son was wounded in a bomb blast that rocked a troubled town in the second district of Maguindanao on Thursday.
Salindatu Rajahmuda, chairman of Barangay Macasampen in Guindulungan town, died while being treated of shrapnel wounds in a hospital here.
Rajahmuda’s badly injured son is now undergoing medication.
The victims have just emerged from a roadside eatery in the town proper of Guindulungan when the improvised explosive device, planted underneath their parked vehicle, went off.
Investigators are still trying to determine if the bombing was politically-motivated.
