Makati call center agent robbed by two men on motorbike

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A Makati City call center agent was robbed of her shoulder bag containing cash and valuables by two men on a motorcycle as she was waiting for a ride home early Tuesday.

Makati Police said 28-year old Maria Shiena Gerodias was standing at the corner of Dian St. and Buendia Avenue at about 3:40 a.m. when the suspects stopped in front of her.

To her surprise, the suspects then grabbed her bag that contained P800, a Nextbook tablet, a Samsung mobile phone and her Union Bank ATM card.

Police said Gerodias tried to fight off the robbers but was pushed to the ground. The suspects then sped off toward Taft Avenue.

Gerodias told investigators that she was unable to identify the robbers as they were wearing full-face helmets at the time.  - Mike Frialde and Trish Lameyra
