15 SMI art contest finalists selected

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines   â€“ Fifteen finalists for the Sagittarius Mines Inc. (SMI) Regional Art Competition were selected at SM City here recently. The finalists were selected from among 222 young artists from 74 public and private high schools across Regions 11 and 12.

SMI sponsors the annual art competition to give high school students an opportunity to exhibit their artistic talents through painting.  Each year, 15 gifted students are chosen as finalists among the hundreds of entries. 

The art competition, now on its third year, is part of SMI’s youth education and skills capability enhancement program.

This year’s finalists are Louie Vic Loquino and Clark Marvin Tan, Tagum National Trade School, Davao del Norte; Armel Grace Lugod and Shen Amba, Tagum City National High School, Davao del Norte; Artemio Bongawan, Federico Yap National High School, Davao del Sur; Jeffrey Taganas, Maa National High School, Davao City; Maricris Cutaroma, Bernardo Carpio National High School, Davao City; Dominador Castro III, Digos City National High School, Davao del Sur; Ron Emilio Limos, Quantum Academy, General Santos City; Jimuel Noveno and Raymart Ronn Gansayan, General Santos City High School;  Demie Aguelo, Maltana National High School, Tampakan, South Cotabato; Mikaela Eclipse and Christian Eclipse, Saravia National High School, Koronadal City; and Kaye Anjelik Villanueva of Malandag Academy, Sarangani.
