COTABATO City, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents gunned down a notorious drug trafficker and arrested seven others in a raid at a drug den in Datu Saudi, Maguindanao Monday.
The slain drug dealer, Kabrix Katidtid, died while being rushed to a hospital after he was shot by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for resisting arrest.
When the PDEA agents swooped down on the drug den, Katidtid tried to grab a .45 caliber pistol from a bag inside a room and attempted to fire at the operatives. A least three handguns and assorted ammunition for pistols were seized from the bag.
Seven suspected drug users were also arrested during the raid.
The PDEA learned of Katidtid’s presence in Barangay Salbu from local officials and religious leaders.
Katidtid was tagged as the main supplier of Shabu in Datu Saudi and surrounding towns in the second district of Maguindanao.
