Manny Galvez - The Philippine Star

CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines – Two students suspected to be behind the death by hazing of a maritime student were arrested by the local police through the help of a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.

Senior Superintendent Crizaldo Nieves, provincial police director, identified the suspects as Garry Nazareno, 23, of Miserior Village, Gen. Natividad, and Warren Yves Caysido, 21, of Barangay Carmen, Zaragoza, both in Nueva Ecija.

The suspects were tagged for the death of Henry Suerto, 18, student of the Midway Maritime Foundation in this city.

Suerto’s body was found along the Sta. Rosa-Tarlac Road last March 17.

Police found out Suerto’s companions before his death and discovered the identities of Nazareno and Caysido through the CCTV footage.

A criminal complaint for violation of Republic Act 8049, or the Anti-Hazing Law and obstruction of justice was filed against the suspects before the Office of Provincial Prosecutor.
