13 Calabarzon cop chiefs sacked

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines   â€“ Thirteen police chiefs in the Calabarzon region have been relieved from their posts for failing to stop jueteng and other forms of illegal gambling in their jurisdictions.

The relief order was approved by Philippine National Police chief Director General Alan Purisima and carried out by the Regional Police Human Resources and Development Division 4-A under Senior Superintendent Rolando Opeña.

Sacked were the police chiefs of Dasmariñas City in Cavite; the Ilaya police station, San Jose, San Juan, and Lemery, all in Batangas; Cabuyao City, Calamba City, Los Baños, Pakil and Nagcarlan, all in Laguna; Jala-Jala and Taytay in Rizal; and Padre Burgos in Quezon.
