MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 4.6 earthquake rocked anew parts of Batanes province early yesterday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor occurred at 12:16 a.m. with its epicenter traced at 42 kilometers southeast of Itbayat, Batanes, and was felt at Intensity 3 in Itbayat and Intensity 2 in Basco, Phivolcs said.
The quake had a depth of 37 kms and was tectonic in origin.
Phivolcs said another magnitude 3.7 tremor was recorded in Itbayat at 11:45 a.m. yesterday, but it was not felt.
