Sarangani reading program gets support

SARANGANI, Philippines – The Department of Education (DepEd) office in this province and Sagittarius Mines Inc. (SMI) have partnered in promoting quality education.

DepEd-Sarangani division superintendent Isagani de la Cruz and SMI gathered more than 400 volunteer teachers to kick off the province’s 2013 Sarangani Big Brother (SBB) Reading is Fun Program in Alabel town recently.

The SBB program is part of the province’s QUEST or Quality Education for Sarangani Today.

SMI turned over 146 Fuller flipcharts in support of the program’s bid to increase the reading and comprehension skills of elementary students. Gov. Miguel Rene Dominguez witnessed the event and received the flipcharts.
