Zamboanga Sibugay mayoral bet’s house strafed

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Unidentified gunmen strafed the house of a candidate for mayor in Roseller T. Lim town, Zamboanga Sibugay early Friday, police said.

Joshua Baroro, 40, who is running under the Liberal Party, and his family members were unhurt when gunmen fired shots at their house in Barangay Kulambugan before 3 a.m., according to Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesman for Police Regional Office-9. 

Investigation showed two unidentified men who were seen lurking near the house opened fire with  .45 caliber pistols and fled on a motorcycle toward Ipil town.

Police are investigating the motive for the attack.
