29 vehicles seized from Bigcas forfeited
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Twenty-nine imported vehicles confiscated by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) from Bukidnon businessman Allan Bigcas have been forfeited in favor of the government.
BOC-Region 10 deputy collector Marvin Mison yesterday said district collector Lourdes Mangaoang received the forfeiture order from BOC Commissioner Ruffy Biazon.
Mison, however, said the bureau could not yet auction the vehicles because Bigcas, who is running for Bukidnon governor, might appeal the order.
The 29 vehicles are worth $396,667 with estimated duties, taxes and other charges for import totaling P17,387,410.
The most expensive is a Kawasaki KMX worth $60,000 and the cheapest, two 2005 Honda CRF 150Fs worth $2,999 each.
Meanwhile, Mison said the BOC-Region 10 would auction 35 containers of Indian white rice, 10 containers of Vietnam long grain white rice and sugar this month.
He said the rice has “deteriorated†but they expect to get P800 to P850 per sack.
