CDO voters undecided on local candidates
MANILA, Philippines - Most voters in Cagayan de Oro City are undecided on who they would vote for among local candidates, except for the second congressional district.
A research by Xavier University in the city showed that Rep. Rufus Rodriguez is preferred by an overwhelming 63 percent while only 3.3 percent would vote for his opponent, Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya. Some 33.67 percent were undecided.
In the mayoral race, the Xavier University survey showed that incumbent Vicente Emano is slightly ahead of his opponent, outgoing Misamis Oriental Gov. Oscar Moreno.
However, majority of the voters (37.17 percent) are undecided on their choice of mayor.
A larger percentage (54.67 percent) are undecided on their choice of vice mayor.
The survey results are based on interviews conducted on Feb. 17-28 among 600 respondents. They were posted on the university’s website yesterday morning.
The survey is part of Xavier University’s study on community problems and needs identification and its electoral engagement advocacy.
