Murder raps filed vs suspect in Bulacan village chief’s slay
MANILA, Philippines - Murder charges have been filed against a suspected gun-for-hire for the death of a barangay chairman of Meycauayan, Bulacan last month.
The charges were filed with the Valenzuela prosecutor’s office last week. Senior Superintendent Eric Armamento, Valenzuela City police chief, declined to divulge the suspect’s name to avoid jeopardizing their operations.
Armamento told The STAR that they are working on the arrest of the suspect, who allegedly acted as a lookout when his companion killed chairman Ronald Legaspi on March 11.
Legaspi was checking his brand new Honda Civic in a parking area about 100 meters from his father’s house in Valenzuela City when two men on a motorcycle shot him several times.
He suffered five gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Dalandanan Hospital in Valenzuela City.
