Teen visiting jail yields shabu in hamburger bun

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – A 13-year-old boy visiting a friend locked up at the provincial jail here was arrested Monday afternoon when he tried to sneak a packet of suspected shabu hidden in a hamburger bun.

Felicito Gumapac, officer-in-charge of the South Cotabato provincial jail, said the boy went to visit an inmate friend who has been behind bars for more than a year.

A jail guard frisked the boy but found nothing. But when the hamburger he was carrying was inspected, it yielded a small plastic sachet suspected to contain shabu. The boy is now under the custody of social welfare officers.
