PNP deploys 254 newly-commissioned officers

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has deployed a total of 254 new policemen to various police units nationwide.

The PNP said that the members of the 2013 graduating class of the PNP Academy have been allocated to vacant positions in the regional and national operational support units.

PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima approved that the deployment distribution of the 254 new police inspectors as proposed by the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.

Thirty-one members of PNPA “Tagapamagitan“ Class 2013 will be assigned to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, 29 to Northern Mindanao, 22 to Southern Mindanao, 12 to SOCSARGEN Region, 18 to Caraga Region, 10 to Cagayan Valley Region, 10 to Cordillera Region, 22 to MIMAROPA, 22 to Bicol Region, 22 to Western Visayas, 17 to Eastern Visayas, 10 to the Maritime Group and 29 to the Special Action Force.

The new police inspectors will be assigned to the Regional Public Safety Battalions and Provincial Public Safety Companies that are the police tactical strike forces for internal security and anti-criminality operations.

SAF is the national tactical maneuver force, while Maritime Group specializes in seaborne law enforcement and public safety operations.

The newly-commissioned police inspectors are now  on a 30-day academic break after which they will report back for orientation prior to deployment to their assigned units.

Over the weekend, 237 members of the PNPA “Tagapamagitan“ Class 2013 received their issued firearms, police badge, basic individual equipment and first paycheck representing monthly salary and initial clothing allowance.
