PNP chief sacks 10 cops
MANILA, Philippines - Five police commanders and five police intelligence officers were sacked from their posts for their failure to curb illegal gambling operations in their areas of jurisdiction.
Philippine National Police Chief (PNP) Director General Alan Purisima said Tuesday that the police officers' relief was in line with the police organization's "One-Strike" and "No Take" policies on illegal gambling.
“The intention of the policy is to give the Commanders in the field a chance to prove their leadership in the implementation of the campaign on illegal gambling.†said Purisima.
He said that the policy aims to give the commanders in the field a chance to prove their leadership in fighting illegal gambling.
The PNP, meanwhile, declined to identify the sacked police commanders, who were assigned in police community precincts in Estero Ceado St., Quiapo, Manila; Cielito Homes North, Caloocan; Vicente Reales, Valenzuela City; Poblacion San Jose, Batangas; and Poblacion Padre Garcia, Batangas.
