Pangasinan bags major awards from regional dev’t body
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines – The provincial government of Pangasinan has won major awards from the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Region 1 for outstanding performance in various categories.
The province was elevated to the Hall of Fame for best performing local government unit in local governance, best millennium development goals implementer, best LGU practice and best project implementer.
The LGU best practice award was in recognition of the province’s accelerated rice seed production and distribution.
The province bagged the best project implementer award for the construction of Sabangan Bridge, which connects Barangay Sabangan to a public market in Labrador town.
The province also received the runner-up honor for cleanest, safest and greenest LGU.
Pangasinan Gov. Amado Espino Jr., Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr. and board members Von Mark Mendoza and Raul Sison led provincial officials in receiving the awards.
Pangasinan earlier bagged the championship in the Gawad Pamana ng Lahi of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and RDC Hall of Fame in coastal resources management.
