SAN PEDRO, Laguna, Philippines – A 17-year-old graduating high school student here was snatched by four armed men last Saturday afternoon and was found dead in a remote area in Gen. Mariano Alvarez town in Cavite the following day, authorities said.

The victim, Manuel Amil, a senior at the Cuyab National High School, was reportedly seized at gunpoint while in a drinking session with four classmates in Barangay San Antonio and dragged into an unlicensed van.

The following morning, Amil’s body bearing five bullet wounds was found in a secluded area along the Congressional Road in Gen. Mariano Alvarez town.

Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, San Pedro police chief, said his men are locating a certain Lito, one of the Amil’s classmates, who could have something to do with the kidnap-slay possibly due to personal grudge or jealousy.
