BIR exec in Pangasinan shot dead
URDANETA CITY, Philippines – The chief examiner of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in this city was gunned down in front of his house Monday night.
Jose Labonete, 46, was shot three times with a .9mm pistol, Superintendent Paquito Navarette, city police chief, told The STAR.
The suspects reportedly had a drinking session near Labonete’s house at City Homes Subdivision in Barangay Nancayasan, Urdaneta City to wait for the victim’s arrival, Navarette said.
Investigators found four shells and a slug of a .9mm pistol at the scene.
Police are still investigating the motive for the ambush.
