Militants stage protest at Malaysian Embassy in Makati

MANILA Philippines - Some 50 members of militant groups on Tuesday staged a protest in front of the Malaysian embassy in Makati City demanding that the Philippine government assert national interest over Sabah.

The protesters from the groups Katribu party-list, Migrante International, Bayan and Kilusang Mayo Uno, staged the protest at about 10:00 a.m. at the Malaysian embassy along Tordesillas St. in Barangay Bel-Air.

The protesters also demanded that the Malaysian forces stop its military offensive and called for justice for the Filipinos killed in Sabah. They also called for the protection of overseas Filipino workers in Sabah.
