Slay suspect in handcuffs jumps off bus

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines   â€“ A murder suspect in handcuffs managed to escape from his police escorts by jumping off from a window of a passenger bus in Bacnotan, La Union last Friday, authorities said.

The inmate, Ronald Gambol, was being brought to a court hearing in Candon, Ilocos Sur, escorted by three policemen on a passenger bus, when he escaped, said Senior Inspector Christian Alquisa, Bacnotan police chief.

Police gave no further details of the escape.
