Zambo inmates stage protest

Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Inmates at the Zamboanga City Reformatory Center held a noise barrage yesterday to protest alleged “unfair treatment” and demanded the removal of the jail warden.

Two of the inmates, who were allowed to speak, alleged that they were being treated inhumanely and served stale food.

The jail warden, Inspector Julius Arro, said the inmates staged the protest after he told the cell leaders that he would reshuffle them as some of them were protecting illegal drug trade in the detention facility.
