The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philipines - Tropical depression "Crising" has slowed down as it crosses Sulu Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported before noon Wednesday.

The weather bureau said that as of 10 a.m., the storm's center was estimated at 220 kilometers northwest of Zamboanga City.

The storm has maintained its strength with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center. It slowed down, moving west northwest at a speed of 19 kph.

Public storm warning signals raised over several provinces in Mindanao have been lifted except for Zamboanga del Norte. Towns located in southern Palawan remain under public storm warning signal number 1.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported earlier that the storm has killed one person in Compostela Valley, whose residents have yet to recover from the devastation caused by typhoon "Pablo."

The NDRRMC also reported that nearly 60,000 people have been displaced by "Crising" in Northern Mindanao and Davao regions.
