1,916 pass police service entrance test
MANILA, Philippines - The National Police Commission (Napolcom) on Monday announced that 4,782 examinees have passed the police entrance and promotional examinations given last October 14.
Napolcom Vice Chairman and Executive Officer Eduardo Escueta said 31,788 examinees took the examination that was held at designated schools in Metro Manila and at other testing venues across the country.
According to Escueta, of the 14,646 examinees who took the police service entrance exam, only 1,916 out of the 14,646 examinees passed. The entrance exam is a requirement for the appointment to the rank of police officer 1 (PO1).
Of the 17,142 examinees who took the promotional tests, only 2,866 passed, with 1,721 in the Police Officers category, 1,053 in the Senior Police Officer category, 57 in the Inspector category and 35 in the Superintendent category.
Meanwhile, Escueta said the Napolcom has invalidated the test results of 54 examinees who took the PNP entrance examination for cheating after an answer pattern analysis conducted prior to the processing of the examination revealed “statistically improbable high percentage of similar patterns of answers.â€
“Of the 54 examinees with statistically improbable high percentage of similar answers, 24 passed and 30 failed. The exam results of these 54 examinees shall be invalidated and the affected examinees shall be barred from taking the PNP Entrance Examination for the next three years,†Escueta said.
Escueta said this will serve as a warning to unscrupulous examinees who want to taint the integrity of the exams.
The list of successful examinees is already posted at the Napolcom central office in Makati City and can be viewed at the Napolcom website at www.napolcom.gov.ph.
Escueta said individual reports of rating will be mailed to all examinees. Verification of test results is underway at the Napolcom central office and its regional offices nationwide.
