ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Authorities have identified the kidnappers of a one-year-old Filipino-Canadian boy and his nanny who were both freed in Ozamiz City last Friday after more than 24 hours in captivity.

Senior Superintendent Thomas Abellar, Zamboanga del Sur police director, said his men are now pursuing the kidnappers who were identified based on the accounts of the 17-year-old baby-sitter.

The boy and his nanny were snatched at Rosario Homes Subdivision in Dao district in Pagadian City last Thursday morning and were released in a mall in Ozamiz the following day.

Authorities remained mum if the boy’s family paid ransom.
