Couple nabbed for illegal possession of firearms

CALAPAN CITY, Philippines – A man and his wife were arrested Friday for possession of two unlicensed firearms and a still undetermined volume of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and other drug paraphernalia during a raid at their house in Roxas town, Oriental Mindoro.

The suspects were identified as Huteope Cay, 51, and his wife Mercy Lorena, 45, both residents of Sitio Kadena de Amor in Barangay Paclasan.

A raiding team led by Inspector Kenneth Ding Gutierrez, chief of Roxas police, and SPO1 Rex Ylagan swooped down on the couple’s house at around 5 a.m.
