ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Three people were wounded when a bomb exploded at a parking lot near a restaurant in Tubod town, Lanao del Norte yesterday, a security official said.

Brig. Gen. Daniel Lucero, commander of Army’s 103rd Infantry Brigade, said the bomb was believed to be rigged to a motorcycle parked near a car in front of Ismael Restaurant in Barangay Poblacion along the national highway in Tubod town.

Lucero said the improvised explosive device exploded at 11:15 a.m.

Jhony Tawantawan, former mayor of Salvador town, who was eating at the restaurant with his lawyer, Yusop Omar, did not discount the possibility that he was the target of the explosion.
