2 killed as bus rams tricycle in La Union

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Two people were killed after the tricycle they were riding collided with a speeding Partas Transit bus along a national highway in Barangay Gana in Caba, La Union at dawn yesterday.

Police identified the fatalities as Jervin Gonzalez, 35, the driver of the tricycle, and his passenger Noel Mapili, 45, a resident of Aringay town.

The bus driver, Robert Fontanilla of Balaoan town, surrendered after the incident.
