4.5 magnitude quake hits Baguio City
MANILA, Philippines - A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Baguio City on Monday afternoon.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake struck 13 kilometers southeast of Baguio City at 3:16 p.m.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was felt at Intensity 5 in Baguio City and Intensity 2 in Agoo and San Fernando towns in La Union.
Several buildings in the city collapsed when a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Luzon in 1990. More than 1,600 people were killed in the quake, majority of which were recorded in Central Luzon and Cordillera.
