Cotabato driver kills self, daughter in blast

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – A tricycle driver and his 11-year-old daughter were killed after he exploded a grenade in their house in Polomolok, South Cotabato on Wednesday afternoon, a village official said.

Boy Huelar, chairman of Barangay Sulit, told Bombo Radyo that the grenade went off in the kitchen of driver Charlie Mantilla, 36.

Before the blast, according to reports, neighbors saw Mantilla pouring gasoline on his motorcycle and then lit it up. He then went to the kitchen and blasted the grenade.

It was unclear to Mantilla’s neighbors why he did it.
