Calabarzon cop exec axed
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – The second ranking police official in Calabarzon was relieved from his post effective Tuesday supposedly in connection with the killings of personnel of alleged jueteng operator Vic Siman in Batangas and Calamba City.
Removed from his post was Chief Superintendent Abner Dimabuyo, deputy regional director for administration of the Calabarzon police.
He was replaced in an acting capacity by Senior Superintendent Edwin Erni, deputy regional director for operations.
Dimabuyo led Task Force SAFE (Secure and Fair Elections) in Batangas when Fernando Morales, Siman’s alleged gambling administrator, was shot dead in San Juan town after he supposedly resisted arrest.
Six other alleged personnel of Siman were killed in an alleged shootout in Calamba City last year.
