Gunmen shoot farmer dead in Maguindanao
COTABATO CITY, Philippines - Two motorcycle-riding gunmen shot dead a farmer in a daring broad daylight attack in Pagulangan, Maguindanao on Tuesday.
Investigators identified the fatality as Rusty Magundas, who died from gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.
Magundas was driving his Kawasaki motorcycle, along with two companions, when one of the two suspects shot him with a pistol.
The unidentified companions of Magundas escaped the shooting unharmed.
Witnesses said that when Magundanas fell to the ground, the two suspects stopped and pumped more shots at the victim's body before fleeing the scene.
Police said that the shooters used a 9mm pistol based on the empty shells recovered at the scene of the crime.
Investigators have yet to determine the motive for the brutal killing of Magundas and the identities of the shooters.
