BALANGA CITY, Philippines - The National Grid Corp. of the Philippine (NCGP) announced Monday that three towns in the province will experience a whole-day power interruption on Tuesday, while several other towns will encounter short shutdowns due to maintenance operations.
NGCP said that power interruption in the municipalities of Hermosa, Orani, and Samal will start at 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. while in Balanga City and the towns of Limay, Orion, Pilar, Bagac, Morong, and Abucay, the outage will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
“All our scheduled annual preventive maintenance, testing of substation equipment and transmission line maintenance is based on approved plan. We do these activities to prevent unnecessary power outages and also for an early preparation for the coming elections,†said NGCP public affairs officer Lilibeth Gaydowen.
She added that they will use highly specialized test equipment to check the condition of power equipment and machines and identify if there are developing faults like oil leaks or electrical defects for immediate “corrective action†in view of the upcoming national and local elections this May.
