Rebels slain in Sorsogon clash identified

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – The Army has identified the two New People’s Army rebels killed during an encounter  in Barangay Carriedo in Gubat, Sorsogon Thursday morning.

Col. Joselito Kakilala, commanding officer of the 903rd Infantry Brigade based in Castilla, Sorsogon, said William Ramada Jarilla, a resident of Barangay Bato in Bacon town and Ritchie Espineda, alias “Ka Bilog” were killed in the encounter.

Two soldiers – Cpl. Alfredo Durana and Pfc. Louise Lumbang – were wounded during a 10-minute gunfight.
