Mimaropa workers to get wage increase

CALAPAN CITY, Philippines – Private sector workers in Region 4-B or Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) will get an increase in their daily take-home pay starting the end of this month.

Based on the new wage order, the region’s non-agricultural workers will have a basic pay of P255, and those in the agricultural sector, P215.

In first-class municipalities, non-agricultural workers will have a basic pay of P260, and those in the agricultural sector, P215.

In the region’s highly urbanized cities, non-agricultural workers will have a basic pay of P275, and those in the agricultural sector, P225.

The new wage order covers all private employees regardless of their position and status of employment.

Household and domestic helpers, family drivers and workers of duly registered barangay micro-business enterprises with certificates of authority pursuant to Republic Act 9178 or the Barangay Micro Business Enterprises Act of 2002 are excluded from the wage hike.

The last wage order in Mimaropa was issued on Nov. 11, 2010.
