Church exec dares Comelec to ensure PCOS accuracy

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines official on Tuesday dared the Commission on Elections to make public the improvements it made on the precinct count optical scan machines to allay fears of their inaccuracy in counting votes in the May midterm polls.

Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo, chairman of CBCP's social action arm, National Secretariat for Social Action Justice and Peace, made the challenge in the light of the alleged inaction of Comelec in concerns raised regarding the PCOS machines accuracy.

Pabillo said the Comelec leadership should ensure the accuracy to have a credible results of the elections.

Pabillo said the Comelec had previously ensured the public of the enhancements it did on the PCOS machines since 2010 national elections but failed to mention what were the improvements.

Ano ba yung in-improve nila? Hinihingi natin yan," he said.
