Magat Dam’s water level back to normal

Charlie Lagasca - The Philippine Star

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – The water level of the Magat Dam along the Isabela-Ifugao boundary is back to normal amid the dry spell affecting hundreds of hectares of farmlands in Isabela.

According to dam engineer Saturnino Tenedor, as of 2 p.m. yesterday, the dam’s water elevation stood at 183.19 meters, a slight improvement from 182 meters, which the dam had experienced for weeks despite intermittent drizzles.

The water level of the dam, which provides irrigation to at least 80,000 hectares of farmlands in Isabela and parts of Quirino and Cagayan, had dropped since November due to lack of rainfall.
