MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-4.8 earthquake struck Ormoc City in Leyte province on Monday morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that the quake struck 10 kilometers southeast of Ormoc City, shortly before 8 a.m.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck at a depth of 14 kilometers.
It was felt at Intensity 4 in Ormoc City, Dulag and Tolosa towns in Leyte; Intensity 3 in Tacloban City and Palo town and Intensity 2 in the town of Leyte.
