ANGELES CITY, Philippines –The city government has acknowledged the efforts of its outstanding residents.

“It is only proper to give credit where credit is due, and these people who proudly gave honor to our city deserve the recognition from the local government and from the people as well,” Mayor Edgar Pamintuan said.

Patrick Cura, chairman of Barangay Lourdes Sur was presented with the Most Outstanding Kapampangan Award for youth service last Tuesday at the Moka 2012 grand ceremonies held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.

Cura, 21, is the youngest barangay captain in the country.

Allan Pineda, known for his moniker “Apl.de.Ap” and a member of the Grammy-award winning hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas, was also recognized during the Moka ceremonies. Pineda hails from Barangay Sapang Bato.

Athletes who represented the city in the recent Philippine National Youth Games – Batang Pinoy 2012 – in Iloilo City were also honored, along with the winners in the dancing and beauty contests to mark the celebration of Pampanga Day.
