Power back in Abra

The Philippine Star

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Power was restored in Abra yesterday after two days in darkness when the Aboitiz Power Corp. cut supply to the local electric cooperative over unpaid bills.

This was confirmed by Dick Bersamira, whose Abra for Truth Movement had protested the blackout that had hounded the province since Monday after the Abra Electric Cooperative (Abreco) failed to settle its bills amounting to P35 million.

The power restoration came amid negotiations among the provincial government, Abreco and the power firm for the temporary restoration of power.
