SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – A showcase of Kapampangan festivities tagged as Pamamupul Festival marked the opening of the weeklong activities for the 441st Aldo ning Kapampangan last Thursday.
Representatives from at least 13 municipalities and one city joined the street dancing.
In his speech, provincial tourism officer Arwin Lingat said it was the first time that the provincial government brought together all festival traditions in the province under one celebration.
“This is a long dream of the provincial tourism office to bring together all festivals that materialized under the leadership of Gov. Lilia Pineda,” Lingat said.
“Through the Pamamupul Festival, our cabalens and tourists will have first-hand experience seeing our traditions at the same time,” he said.-Ric Sapnu
