Tarlac, Cebu City bag 1st Robredo ICT Awards

CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Philippines – Tarlac and Cebu City won the first Jesse Robredo Awards for Excellence in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for Good Governance.

Initially known as “eGov Awards,” the award aims to boost efficiency and transparency in local government units  through the use of  modern information technology.

CyberCity president George Sorio announced here yesterday that Tarlac won the government-to-business (G2B) category and Cebu City the government-to-customer (G2C) category.

Sorio said G2B covered the use of ICT to facilitate business transactions with LGU’s while G2C referred to the use of ICT to ease the public’s transactions with LGUs.

Naga City and Iloilo City came in second and third, respectively in the G2B category while Balanga City in Bataan and Carmona, Cavite  were second and third, respectively in the G2C category.
