Ailing Isabela barangay chairman kills self

ILAGAN CITY, Philippines  – A 54-year-old barangay chairman took his life by hanging himself in his piggery in San Agustin, Isabela last Friday after he was diagnosed with a kidney ailment, police said.

Senior Inspector Reynaldo Maggay, San Agustin police chief, said businessman Solomon Mayor, chairman of Barangay Virgonesa, used a nylon cord to hang himself moments after he arrived with his wife from a hospital where he learned about his ailment.
