BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Police authorities in Cagayan Valley have identified six more election hotspots in Cagayan province.
Tagged as areas of concern in next year’s elections were the towns of Buguey, Lasam, Rizal, Santa Ana and Solana, and Tuguegarao City, the province’s capital.
Earlier, Senior Superintendent Gregorio Lim, Cagayan police director, had also identified the towns of Tuao and Baggao as historically being considered as election hotspots.
“We are especially monitoring the traditional hotspots like Tuao and Buguey, and to another extent the towns of Rizal and Baggao because of the known presence of the New People’s Army,” he said.
