CAMP FLORENDO, La Union, Philippines – A police investigator who assisted a Japanese businessman in filing a case before the prosecutor’s office in Agoo town on Tuesday afternoon was shot dead by unidentified men.
Senior Inspector Robert de la Cruz, Sto. Tomas police chief, said SPO2 Julius Espiritu, 37, was on his way to the police station along Casantaan Bridge in Sto. Tomas town when he was gunned down.
Investigation showed that Espiritu had accompanied Masayuki Kubo, manager of Filipinas True World Venture Inc., to the prosecutor’s office to file charges of estafa and theft against certain individuals.
