Perseus Echeminada - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A 36-year-old laborer from Mt. Province claimed yesterday the jackpot in the 6/55 Grand Lotto draw last Oct. 20, which he shared with a government retiree from Masbate.

Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said the laborer hit the winning combination 37-38-24-33-35-32 with a jackpot of P88,721,542.80.

Rojas said the laborer decided not to immediately claim his prize to mislead his neighbors.

The lucky player is married and has five children. He plans to buy a house and lot, start a business and set up a trust fund for the education of his children.

The Masbate player picked the winning numbers based on the ages of her four children. She plans to build a new house, donate to the church and share her winnings to her children.
