COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Police and Army bomb disposal operatives promptly defused yesterday two bombs found along a stretch of the national highway in Kidapawan City.
Superintendent Renante Cabico, Kidapawan City police chief, said it was just fortunate that an off-duty militiaman, Leonardo Podadera, found the two improvised bombs while on his way to his farm.
Communist rebels have pulled off more than 20 roadside bombings in Kidapawan City and adjoining towns since last January.
